On June 22, 2005 the 3rd annual class of 40 Under Forty were announced during an event in their honor.  This class joins the two previous classes in bringing the total number of 40 Under Forty alumni to 120.  This year, the judges had over 85 nominations from which to choose. The judges deliberations produced this list of honorees:
