Grant money available for renewable energy feasibility studies

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is making $3 million available through the Rural Energy for America Program to conduct feasibility studies for renewable energy systems for agriculture producers and rural small businesses.

Eligible feasibility studies for renewable energy systems include projects that will produce energy from wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, hydro power and hydrogen-based sources.

Promotions, hires and recognitions in South Sound

Zella Kahn-Jetter Ph.D.has been named dean of the School of Engineering at St. Martin's University. She has more than 20 years of experience in Catholic higher education and currently serves as the chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Manhattan College, a private Catholic college in New York. Kahn-Jetter will assume her deanship in January.

Colleen H. Gillespie has been named chief advisory officer of Olympia-based Cambridge Wealth Management. She has a bachelor's degree in social work from Eastern Washington University and a dual master's degree in public administration/health administration from Portland State University.
