State office supplies contract cuts costs by almost $3M yearly

A new office supplies contract for state government that begins May 1 reduces costs by 21 percent over the previous agreement, a savings of $2.976 million annually.

To increase efficiency and reduce costs, the contract provides a standard product list of about 3,600 of the most commonly used office supplies, ink and toner cartridges, and copy paper. This is a reduction from the previous list of 60,000 items that were available.

Beaver Worx does work, but leaves liens

Homeowners from Tacoma to Seattle are waging complaints against Beaver Worx LLC for failing to pay its suppliers, according to Better Business Bureau. As a result, complainants are receiving notices of liens on their homes.
Most consumers have paid in full and projects were completed, but they are later told that thousands of dollars in liens have been placed against their homes because Beaver Worx never paid for materials, the BBB said. Complainants allege that the company does not respond to phone calls or inquiries.

Hampton Heights apartments sold for $7.6 million

Hampton Heights LLLP of Bellevue has purchased the Hampton Heights apartment complex in Tukwila from SP-Hampton and Associates L.P. of Fife for $7.6 million.

The complex at 5711 S. 152nd St. was built in 1976 and features 67 one-bedroom and 46 two-bedroom units, along with a single three-bedroom unit.
