Financial adviser indicted for $46M fraud scheme

A long-time Seattle financial adviser was indicted today by a federal grand jury on 23 criminal counts, including wire fraud, money laundering and investment adviser fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Reality star Kim Kardashian, fresh from a sweaty workout, decides to dump her personal trainer. “It’s not someone else, it’s something else” said the celebutante in a recent television advertisement. After a gratuitous shot of one of the starlet’s most photographed body parts and a scene of Kardashian glamorously lacing up a pair of Skechers, text on the screen says, “Bye-bye trainer, hello Shape Ups.”

Governor signs bill to extend tax exemptions

Gov. Chris Gregoire has signed a bill that will extend the sales and use tax exemption for data centers and the business and occupation tax exemptions for the commercial processing of fruits, including wine grapes, vegetables, dairy and seafood.

Duval owner, executives plead guilty to immigration violations

A Duval organic herb company, its owner and two executives pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Seattle to felony and misdemeanor charges related to the hiring of illegal aliens.

Man charged with stealing nearly $107K from Medicaid

A Thurston County Superior Court judge has issued an arrest warrant for the owner of medical supply company accused of Medicaid fraud. The warrant was requested so that the defendant can be arrested should he return to the United States.

Supreme Court invites public to college sessions

The state Supreme Court will hold court at Centralia College during a two-day visit scheduled for May 9 and 10. The nine justices will meet with students, lead classes and hold official court sessions.
