Centralia College adds bachelor's program

In a county where the overall unemployment rate hovers around 11 percent, the fact that there’s a worker shortage at the management level — and a need for new businesses across the board — is a good thing. What’s lacking is training, though, both for managers and entrepreneurs. That’s a hole Centralia College’s new Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Management, the school’s first four-year degree track, is aiming to fill.

Centralia industrial site on the market

Opus Northwest has put Opus Centralia Logistics Center, a 77-acre industrial development site, up for sale. The site is one of the largest available rail-served properties on the Interstate 5 corridor and is approved for construction of up to 1.8 million square feet of industrial space.

Greg Carter M.D., M.S. has received the 2012 Distinguished Research Award from The American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a Providence Medical Group physiatrist in Centralia who specializes in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. Carter also is the medical director of the MDA Regional Neuromuscular Center in Olympia and is medical director for Providence Hospice in Lewis County. He currently serves as teaching faculty for the University of Washington MEDEX Northwest Division of Physician Assistant Studies, University of Washington School of Medicine. He has previously served as a professor of rehabilitation medicine at the University of Washington, where he helped found the MDA/ALS Center.
