A recent transplant from east of the Mississippi, Arnie Aurellano joined the Business Examiner editorial team in December of 2012. En route to the South Sound, he helmed newsrooms in daily publications for the last four years, and brings with him years of experience as a writer, editor and designer.
After graduating with a writing degree from Ohio's Wittenberg University in 2005, Arnie's journalism career began in 2008 handling layout duties for a daily newspaper in Crawfordsville, Ind., about one hour northwest of Indianapolis. Before long, he was promoted to feature reporter, columnist and assistant editor before earning a promotion to managing editor in the Panhandle town of Pampa, Texas. He has earned multiple awards for his special features and columns, and was the youngest head editor of a daily paper in Texas before leaving the state.
An avid snowboarder and music lover, Arnie has been happy to trade in his cowboy boots for a rain slicker and get more acquainted with the Pacific Northwest. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, exploring the entire Puget Sound area and rooting for his hometown Pacers and Colts (though he's learning that being a Seahawks fan isn't bad, either).
