Capital Medical Center has selected members of its board of trustees for 2011. They include: Kevin Ekar, Heritage Bank, chair; Stephen Daniels-Brown, Daniels-Brown Communications, vice chair; David Deitz M.D., South Sound Surgical Associates; Janie Easter, Easter Financial Services; Thomas O'Meara M.D., Olympia Multi-Specialty Clinic; Wendy Holden; Robert Hipp M.D., South Sound Surgical Associates; Angela Bowen M.D., Western Institutional Review Board; Joseph Sharp, former CEO of Capital Medical Center; Jim Morris, MPH Holdings LLC; Clyde Carpenter M.D., Olympia Orthopaedic Associates; Debra Johnson M.D., South Sound Women's Center; and Jim Geist, CEO of Capital Medical Center.

Daryl Fourtner has joined Heritage Bank in downtown Olympia as senior vice president, commercial lender. He has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, most recently as a vice president, commercial banker, and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School. The Tacoma Pierce County Affordable Housing Consortium has elected officers for it board of directors for 2011-12. They include: Maureen Fife, Pierce County Habitat for Humanity, president; Charlie Gray, Pierce County Housing Authority, vice president; Jim Winskill, Construction Enterprises and Contractors, secretary; Molly Archer, Common Ground Washington, treasurer; and Michael Mirra, Tacoma Housing Authority, immediate past president.

Mary McClellan has received one of five Washington State Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform awards. She is a faculty member at University of Washington Tacoma and is nationally certified in adolescent and young adult science. McClellan also is active in developing the state educational standards for science.
