TRCVB secures four major conventions
TRCVVB previously released it had secured the convention of Washington State Republican Party. The organization estimates that all combined the four conventions will bring 4,350 attendees and more than $722,000 to the Pierce County economy between now and 2012.
"These major convention bookings bring important revenues and tax dollars to our community at a time we need it most," said Tammy Blount, TRCVB president and CEO. To secure these conventions the TRCVB said it worked in collaboration with industry and community partners.
"We will continue to bring new business opportunities to Pierce County and to our members through proactive sales initiatives," said Shauna Lunde, TRCVB Director of Sales + Marketing. "To increase bookings we are selling to new and emerging markets that are a good fit for our region."
The Affordable Housing Management Association of Washington and Washington State Council for Affordable + Rural Housing joint convention will be held April 19 to 20 at Greater Tacoma Convention + Trade Center, Hotel Murano, Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma, Baymont Inn + Suites Fife, Holiday Inn Express Tacoma, Comfort Inn Tacoma, Best Western Tacoma Dome Hotel and La Quinta Inn + Suites Tacoma. The convention is expected to bring 600 attendees and more than 1,000 room nights.
National Railway Historical Society will hold its Annual Convention at Hotel Murano June 20 through June 26, 2011. The convention is expected to bring 550 attendees and 1,225 room nights.
Meeting Professionals International will hold its MPI Cascadia Conference at Greater Tacoma Convention + Trade Center and Hotel Murano March 4 to March 6, 2012. The conference is expected to bring 200 attendees and nearly 300 room nights, as well as potential future meetings resulting from destination exposure to these attendees.
Washington State Republican Party will hold its convention at Greater Tacoma Convention + Trade Center, Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma and Hotel Murano May 30 to June 3, 2012. The convention is expected to bring more than 3,000 attendees and more than 580 room nights.
