Barnes named Veteran Champion of the Year
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2012 Washington Veteran Champion of the Year is Natalie Barnes, owner of The Owners Alliance. As a franchise consultant and coach, she works one-on-one with individuals to find franchise business opportunities that fit their personal, professional and financials goals.
Barmes extends her franchising expertise to advocate for veteran business ownership. She volunteers as an Anchor Partner of the Washington National Guard to support job fairs and resource fairs – helping veterans set reachable goals to achieve their dreams.
"Our winner actively participates in veteran advisory groups to improve awareness and energetically promotes special consideration for veteran-owned small businesses in government policymaking," said Seattle SBA District Director Nancy Porzio. “She also helps franchise companies offer financial benefits – including discounts - to veterans through the International Franchise Association's VetFran program.”
Barnes sponsors military activities and offers free educational programs about franchising and entrepreneurship for transitioning veterans at military bases including Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Bangor Naval Base Kitsap, Everett Naval Station and various National Guard locations.
