TEDx Tacoma sells out

TEDx Tacoma sells out
More than 162 people registered for today's conference organized by TEDx Tacoma for what sponsors called "an eclectic array of presentations."

TEDx events are about "sharing and inspiring others to change." And today at Museum of Glass, attendees, from policy wonks to performing artists to small business leaders and entrepreneurs, each provided thought-provoking ideas designed to get audience members to think. Tacoma attorney Salvador Mungia offered a monologue about raising children, and what parents can learn if they will listen. Mungia continued by sharing the strength he gained from his 10 year old son, Alex, particularly during a successful battle against colon cancer.

TED (which stands for technology, education and design) is a nonprofit organization that began in 1984. TED hosts two annual international conferences, but to make TED more accessible to the general public, the nonprofit created a local version of conventions called TEDx.
