Tacoma Nordstrom among stores to adopt "reserve online" program

Aug 28, 2017 - 04:58 PM

With e-retail continuing to encroach on shopping at traditional brick-and-mortars, department stores in the area continue to come up with ways to bring customers back into physical shopping centers.

To that end, Nordstrom’s Tacoma Mall location is one of six Nordstrom department stores in Washington that will be part of the company’s expanded “Reserve Online and Try In Store” service. The program, launching nationally after a pilot in six stores in Washington, will allow customers to select items online and try them on in person at their nearest physical Nordstrom retailer.

"We're thrilled to expand our Reserve Online & Try In Store service to provide a better experience for customers shopping with Nordstrom – whether that's online, in-store or a combination of both," said Shea Jensen, senior vice president of customer experience at Nordstrom. "Many of our customers like to feel and try on clothes and shoes before they purchase them and we're excited to offer them a more convenient way to do so."

Across the country, 40 stores will offer the new service. Overall Nordstrom operates 354 locations in 40 states, including 122 full line department stores.
