New interim leader for MDC agency

Dec 21, 2017 - 05:02 PM

One of Pierce County’s larger non-profit social service providers, Metropolitan Development Council, today announced the appointment of CFO Rick Triggs as interim Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.

MDC’s Board of Directors said P. Mark Pereboom, only the agency’s second CEO in its 53-year history, has chosen to retire. He assumed the leadership position in 2010, succeeding founder Lindsey Hinand, who served 45 years.

Triggs joined MDC three years ago, after serving The Geneva Foundation for five years. He was with Northwest/Kinetics/Charles River Laboratories for seven years earlier and volunteers as finance chair with Tacoma Relay for Life.

The MDC Board will announce plans for a search to find a new CEO in the near future.
