’Thin’ network health plan responds

Dec 22, 2017 - 05:47 PM

One week after Washington’s state Insurance Commissioner announced enforcement action against Coordinated Care Corp. for having an inadequate coverage of approved medical providers, the national health plan announced a refund for some local policyholders.

"The action that Coordinated Care is taking today to refund $150,000 to enrollees because of an error in calculating their out-of-pocket medical costs is welcome,” says Mike Kreidler, OIC, “and proof the company is taking steps to improve service to consumers in Washington.

“The company recognized that its system was not working properly for 476 enrollees in its Exchange plans (and it) is acting quickly to make them whole. I applaud the efforts.”

Kreidler called todays response from the insurance plan provider “a positive sign for me that Coordinated Care is making good on its recent commitment to bolster services to its enrollees."
