Feb 16, 2017 - 12:56 PM

John Theisen, president & CEO of Auburn-based Orion Industries, has been named Aerospace Executive of the Year by Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance.

Under his leadership over the past 16 years, Orion has advanced from a small sheet metal fabricator into a world class organization with operations in the aerospace and tele-services industries. It has achieved 20 percent annual average sales increases for the past 13 years, growing to become the 10th largest aerospace employer in Washington state, with over 400 employees.

Orion is a social enterprise with a mission of helping those with barriers to employment, such as learning disabilities, low income, and mental health barriers. The enterprise has twice been recognized as Global Supplier of the Year by Boeing, received Globe Award notice from World Trade Center Tacoma and was the Governor’s Aerospace Company of the Year.
