Mary Bridge adds Pierce, Thurston providers to network

Jan 24, 2018 - 05:47 PM

Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Health Network has grown in the South Sound, forging a pair of partnerships that solidify its footprint in Pierce and Thurston Counties.

Woodcreek Healthcare of Puyallup and Bonney Lake and ABC Pediatrics of Olympia announced that they have joined Mary Bridge, a part of MultiCare Health System, as of this month. Woodcreek formalized its longtime partnership with Mary Bridge on Jan. 1; ABC joined the network on Jan. 22.

Woodcreek Healthcare’s primary focus is pediatric primary care, but it also provides integrated behavioral health, an asthma and allergy clinic, and two urgent cares. The addition of Woodcreek — and its nearly 40 providers — more than doubles the number of general pediatric providers within MultiCare and Mary Bridge’s network.

Its partnership with MultiCare creates a hybrid model of employment and ownership, with approximately 35 Woodcreek physicians and advanced practice providers now employed by Mary Bridge Children’s. The practice itself, along with clinical and administrative support staff remains independent, owned and operated by the principals who built and grew it over the past 39 years.

ABC, meanwhile, offers preventive care, including well-child visits, physicals and immunizations. The partnership will bring its pediatricians into the Mary Bridge and MultiCare network of providers; the practice and staff, however, will remain likewise independent.
