Study: WA remains near top for small biz job growth
National staffing firm Paychex announced the results of its December Small Business Employment Watch study today, showing Washington holding firm near the top of small business job growth.
The Evergreen State again ranked second among states in the category, trailing only Tennessee, despite a year-to-year decrease in the study’s index. The first place state, Tennessee, and the third place state, Florida, posted similar decreases (approximately one percentage point from last year) but continue a strong level of small business job growth.
Seattle’s metropolitan area (which includes Tacoma and a large part of the South Sound for the study’s purposes) ranks first among the country’s largest 20 metro areas for a second consecutive month.
