ERI earns R2 certification

Jul 19, 2011 - 02:24 PM
Electronic Recyclers International's facility in Auburn has achieved Responsible Recycling Practices for Electronics Recyclers certification.

R2 Certification is a set of guidelines for accredited programs to assess electronics recyclers' environmental, worker health and safety, and security practices. The voluntary R2 practices include general principles and specific practices for recyclers disassembling or reclaiming used electronics equipment including those electronics that are exported for refurbishment and recycling.

ERI is the first recycler of electronics to be both R2 certified and certified to the Basel Action Network's e-Stewards Standard for Responsible Recycling and Reuse of Electronic Equipment.

Fresno, Calif.-based ERI, which has locations in California, Washington, Colorado, Indianapolis, Massachusetts, Texas and North Carolina, is the largest recycler of electronic waste in the United States. Edit Module
