State WorkSource joins Monster

Jul 6, 2016 - 11:51 AM

Washington state’s Employment Security Department is linking to a new “Jobs Available” website created by Monster Worldwide Inc., a leading private sector employment matching business.

The new WorkSourceWA.com was unveiled during an event this morning in Seattle at Group Health Cooperative, one of more than 2,400 employers in the state that have already created accounts on the new site to advertise their job openings.

There are more than 157,000 job openings posted to the site, including those already posted on Monster.com, each listed by an employer at no charge. Washington residents have created 33,000 accounts with their resumes in the first two months that it’s been live.

“WorkSourceWA.com gives job seekers and employers the tools they need to succeed,” said Dale Peinecke, ESD commissioner. “It shows the positive role government can play in helping businesses prosper and people improve their lives.”

Known formerly for operating physical service offices in most cities, WorkSource is a partnership of government agencies, community colleges and non-profit organizations offering employment and training services to job seekers and businesses.
