Auburn roofing contractor expands with acquisition
Auburn contractor Guardian Roofing has announced the acquisition of Seattle-based competitor Jorve Roofing.
Financial terms of the deal — Guardian’s first acquisition — were not disclosed. A statement from the company says the transaction “represents a shift for the company into a growth strategy that will focus on expanding its footprint across Washington State, as well as into Oregon and Idaho.”
“As an iconic Pacific Northwest brand with a strong reputation, Jorve was a natural fit for acquisition to help us grow our local footprint,” said Guardian Roofing founder and co-owner Matt Swanson. “We’ve always had a strong presence in Pierce County, and Jorve has the same strong brand awareness in King County — which made the acquisition a great fit.”
Guardian is family-owned and was founded by Swanson and his wife Lori in 2005. Currently, the company employs 50 full-time employees, with the acquisition of Jorve adding another 25 full-time team members.
While the companies have been operating as separate brands, over time, the two businesses will begin to operate solely under the Guardian brand.
“We’ve been looking for the right opportunity to expand our business and when we learned that Jorve’s owner was thinking about transitioning out of the roofing industry, it seemed like the perfect fit,” said Lori Swanson. “We’re committed to providing excellent ongoing care to Jorve’s customers and have welcomed their talented team members to ours.”
