Nation's goods, services trade deficit decreases

The Nation’s international trade deficit in goods and services decreased to $50.1 billion in April from $52.6 billion in March, as imports decreased more than exports.

Exports decreased to $182.9 billion in April from $184.4 billion in March. Goods were $130.7 billion in April, down from $132.1 billion in March. Services were $52.2 billion in April, down from $52.3 billion in March.

Imports decreased to $233.0 billion in April from $237.1 billion in March.  Goods were $195.5 billion in April, down from $199.6 billion in March. Services were $37.5 billion in April, up from $37.4 billion in March.

For goods, the deficit was $64.8 billion in April, down from $67.5 billion in March. For services, the surplus was $14.8 billion in April, down from $14.9 billion in March.
