Mason County PUD No. 3 is leaving its 54-year old administration building on Cota Street in Shelton and moving into a new operations center 2621 E. Johns Prairie Road. The new site will be officially open for business April 2. The operations center will be the site for the PUD 3 warehouse; field operations such as Shelton line workers; vehicle maintenance, repair and fueling; engineering, telecommunications, energy conservation, the meter shop, transformer and substation maintenance; and various administrative functions. In addition to the downtown Shelton payment center, customers also will be able to make payments, set up accounts and conduct general business at the Johns Prairie facility.
The PUD and Mason County Senior Activities Association have signed an option to purchase agreement for the administration building on Cota Street and the 60-year-old engineering offices on South Third Street.
MCSAA has a vision to create a one-stop center for senior assistance, which will allow more services to be available for the county's seniors. It will also provide for improved parking and accessibility.
