Geotechnical promotion, addition
Tacoma resident Michael Hutchinson is the new CEO of GeoEngineers, a national earth science and technology firm. He joined the firm in 2002 and previously led its Puget Sound operations.
Hutchinson replaces Kurt Fraese, who has been CEO since 2007 and has announced plans to retire in 2017. He will continue as the company’s president until then.
GeoEngineers has offices in Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Louisiana and Missouri, in addition to its office in downtown Tacoma. It specializes in environmental, ecological, geotechnical and technology solutions for water and natural resource, transportation, energy, federal and development sectors.
SCJ Alliance has named Maria Stock its new finance manager, after her 21 years experience as assistant controller and payroll manager for a geotechnical firm in San Diego.
She will work from SCJ’s Lacey headquarters to support the firm’s five offices in Washington and Colorado. The company was founded in 2006 as Shea Carr Jewell and recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with nearly 70 employees. They work in civil engineering, transportation planning and design, environmental and urban planning, landscape architecture and design, and public outreach.
