Personal data still missing after burglary arrest

Mar 28, 2016 - 05:15 PM

Burglars made away with potentially thousands of people’s data when they hit several federal offices located at 711 Capitol Way South in Olympia, including the Federal Department of Child Support Enforcement.

The burglaries included cash, cameras, electronics, laptop computers and, most importantly, two hard drives possibly filled with personal information.

On March 26, the Olympia Police Department arrested 28-year-old Nicholas Perring and booked him into Thurston County ARC for burglary. Police found several stolen items during a search of his vehicle and hotel room, but the hard drives have yet to be recover.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the crime can call the City of Olympia Detective Division at 360-753-8300.

For information about the personal information data stolen, contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at 202-260-6412.
