Car dealer drives $$ to non-profits
Junior Achievement of Washington and Communities in Schools of Puyallup will be sharing $25,000 in grants and donations from The CarMax Foundation, now that a new auto dealership is open in the South Sound.
Today was the grand opening for CarMax used vehicle complex at 202 Valley Avenue NW in Puyallup and another new location in Lynnwood.
“CarMax associates are passionate about supporting the communities where we live and work,” said Chasidy Murphy, location general manager of the CarMax in Puyallup. The chain’s 200 new employees nominated the non-profits that will receive the financial gifts.
The nation’s largest retailer of used cars also announced that it will parner with KaBOOM!, a nationwide non-profit focused on getting all kids the balance of play they need, to build a $95,000 playground somewhere in the Puget Sound region.
