Record number of Thurston Green businesses in 2017

Mar 21, 2017 - 05:18 PM

A decade after its inception, the Thurston Green Business program continues to grow, with a record number of designees this year.

A partnership between the City of Lacey, the City of Olympia, the City of Tumwater, Thurston County and the Thurston County Chamber, the program recognizes businesses that take steps to be green and save from their bottom line.

This year, 92 businesses applied for the designation, with those businesses to be celebrated at the Chamber’s upcoming forum on April 12 at the Hotel RL Olympia.

The luncheon will include a keynote address by Keith Edgerton, chief sustainability officer at Providence St. Peter, as well as a Green Business Expo and a chance to meet businesses and organizations in Thurston County committed to environmental sustainability.
