Tacoma's JayRay nets pair of marketing awards
Tacoma marketing company JayRay has racked up a pair of awards for its branding, print and social media work with three local clients.
JayRay’s work with Travel Tacoma + Pierce County during the National Park Services Centennial earned the Totem Award from the Puget Sound chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Travel Tacoma hosted five out-of-state Instagram influencers as part of the event, and their 79 Instagram posts drew 64,000 engagements, with the Instagram’s following climbing 49 percent.
The company also drew a Gold and a Silver award at the Service Industry Advertising Awards for its work with Symphony Tacoma and Tacoma Public Schools, respectively. JayRay was responsible for the symphony’s new logo and rechristening into Symphony Tacoma from its previous name, Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. The company also designed TPS’ annual calendar, touting the district’s faculty, programs and improved test scores.
“Our clients were enthusiastic partners throughout the strategic and creative processes,” said JayRay president Kathleen Deakins. “The awards celebrate collaboration and hard work that paid off.”
