$5,000 to feed families

Nov 29, 2016 - 04:51 PM

Leaders from the Thurston County Realtors Association have again donated to the Thurston County Food Bank, as they have done for the past several years.

This most recent $5,000 gift will provide approximately 2,000 meals, according to officials at the community organization.

“Realtors are a good representation of our small business community,” noted Robert Coit, executive director of the food bank. “They are generally independent and they are everywhere. That’s important to us because it is a good connection to the local community.”

“We are making the contribution to our Food Bank now to help area families with the holidays,” says TCRA president Jerry Wilkins. “Regardless of the times – whether the housing market is up or down, the economy is good or bad – Realtors have been committed to lending a helping hand anywhere we can in our communities.”

The funds came largely from proceeds of the Realtors’ annual golf tournament.
