Downtown Olympia tree arrives

Nov 15, 2016 - 01:18 PM

A 25-feet tall “holiday” tree arrived at Sylvester Park in the heart of Olympia this morning, donated by Weyerhaeuser and transported by the state Department of Enterprise Services.

Over the coming weeks, the tree will be decorated by DES crews and the park will be prepped for the official tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 4:30 p.m.

Local franchise McDonald’s Olympia/HBO Enterprises Inc. is the sponsor of the 2016 holiday tree. Other holiday season activities in downtown Olympia are being organized by Olympia Downtown Association and the Parking & Business Improvement Area.
