‘Corporate Champion’ on gender: TrueBlue
In sharp contrast to much of corporate America, Tacoma-based TrueBlue was celebrated today for its commitment to gender diversity in its boardroom.
Women’s Forum of New York at its Breakfast of Champions presented an award to TrueBlue as one of the publicly-traded Fortune 1000 and S&P 500 companies where women have a significant presence on the corporate governing board.
“Having a board that is inclusive and represents different backgrounds means the important discussions we have better reflect the broad diversity of our customers, employees and communities,” TrueBlue CEO Steve Cooper says. “It ensures that we are seeing a wide variety of perspectives when we make decisions, and we’re honored to be recognized for our effort with a Corporate Champion award.”
TrueBlue Director Bonnie Soodik, who was present to accept the award this morning, noted that one-third of the company’s directors are women.
TrueBlue (NYSE: TBI) is a provider of specialized workforce solutions that help clients create growth, improve efficiency and increase reliability. It connected over 815,000 people with work during 2016 in a wide variety of industries.
