Buses coming from 3 states to Olympia

Oct 5, 2016 - 04:42 PM

Charter coach operators from Idaho and Oregon will join Washington-based companies for Northwest Motorcoach Association’s ROADEO competition next week at Capital Mall. The event highlights the best bus operators and drivers in tests of their motoring skills.

This competition showcases a driver's skills in safe driving and customer service.  It includes events such as judgement stops, turning and clearing obstacles among other duties that a driver must perform to ensure a safe and secure ride.

"We are thrilled to welcome this event to our region," said Shauna Stewart, executive director of Olympia-Lacey-Tumwater Visitor & Convention Bureau.  "Working in the tourism industry, we appreciate our tourism ambassadors who work day-in and day-out to ensure a great experience for visitors, that includes driving visitors to destinations safely."

The 2016 bus RODEO is being held in conjunction with the NWMA Annual fall conference at Hotel RL in Olympia, according to current association president, Gary Miller of GLM Charter Bus Service & Repair, Puyallup.
