Another bank expands local business efforts

Oct 12, 2017 - 05:29 PM

Acknowledging the robust economy in the Puget Sound marketplace, six new small business relationship bankers are on the job for Umpqua Bank, including two in the South Sound.

Cyndee Wood will serve the Auburn and Federal Way sector, while Greg Hansch is posted to Tacoma.

The Oregon-based financial institution chose this region as one of three primary hubs for a new Small Business Banking division, specifically to help established and growing small businesses.

“Umpqua believes there’s a real opportunity for a bank with specialized small business expertise and a consultative approach to helping companies address challenges to have an impact on the market,” said John Hill, Umpqua’s senior VP and regional director.

Last year, Umpqua provided more than $1 billion in small business-related financing, as well as another $63.1 million in SBA lending.
