Heritage Distillery among Manufacturing Excellence winners
Gig Harbor’s Heritage Distilling was one of four innovative companies honored with Manufacturing Excellence awards at the Association of Washington Business Institute’s annual Manufacturing Summit yesterday.
The awards recognized the manufacturers for “outstanding contributions to innovation, environmental excellence and operational improvements that lead to healthy, rewarding and successful workplaces.” Heritage, the largest independent craft distillery in the state, was noted for being the most awarded craft distillery in North America for the last four years.
The other awards went to heavy equipment fabricator HPF Manufacturing in Snohomish; interior builder Canyon Creek Cabinet Company in Monroe; and waste management company Waste Connections of Washington in Vancouver.
“Today’s Manufacturing Summit is the capstone to a week spent highlighting the importance of manufacturing to our state’s economic health,” said AWB President Kris Johnson. “The Manufacturing Excellence award winners are perfect of examples of how Washington manufacturers are leading the way on innovation, demonstrating our shared values of a clean environment creating economic opportunity for all and updating the perceptions of modern manufacturing operations and careers.”
