Oct 25, 2017 - 05:04 PM

Interested parties in the South Sound are invited to an update on the status of the Hirst decision by the State Supreme Court that has essentially stopped most rural construction in Washington, and kept legislators from passing a capital budget for the state.

Lexar Homes of Tacoma is sponsoring the meeting in Fife tomorrow (Thursday) evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the GENSCO building, 4402 20th St. E. The presentation begins at 6 o’clock and will be followed by questions and answers.

State Sen. Randi Becker (R-2nd) and State Rep. Morgan Irwin (R-31st) will address the legislative background that failed to find a response to satisfy the court decision. Pierce County Councilman Derek Young and Maggie Morehouse from TPC Health Department will join Seth Mattos, lead hydrologist with GeoResources LLC will be resources at the open meeting.

Building Industry Association of Washington, Master Builders Association Pierce County, Mitsubishi Electric and Arcadia Drilling are other co-sponsors for this free informational meeting.
