Local lumber into local Habitat houses

Oct 24, 2017 - 03:56 PM

Sierra Pacific Industries LLC, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Mason County by donating the lumber for framing a house currently under construction in Shelton. It will also provide framing materials for anothernew home building project, which will begin next spring

This is lumber that’s been both grown and milled in Mason County and will now be used to build a home for a family that qualifies for a Habitat for Humanity of Mason County home.

Habitat volunteers met at Sierra Pacific Industries administration office to pick up safety gear this afternoon, then it was on to the loading dock to pick up the lumber.

Habitat plans for completion of House #27 after the new year and will start House #29 in the Spring of 2018. House #28 is a nearly completed renovation.

Construction volunteers are welcome to join for both weekday and weekend work parties. For information on how you can volunteer or support Habitat for Humanity of Mason County call the office at (360) 426-8134 or visit the website.
