Tacoma minimum wage goes higher

Oct 23, 2017 - 04:43 PM

Following direction provided by voters, the minimum wage for all jobs within City of Tacoma will be going up to $12 per hour starting Jan. 1, 2018.

The smaller hourly increase was mandated to reach this level over a two-year period following the election decision.

Tacoma municipal code requires that employers provide notice to their employees of the new minimum wage rate and most provide notice by hanging a poster in their lunchroom or another highly visible area. In order to help you be prepared long before New Year's Eve approaches, the 2018 Minimum Wage Workplace Notice (click to download) is available now.

The notice conveniently includes all six translations provided by the city, helping employers to meet the requirements of the Minimum Wage Rules without taking up too much wall space.
