Thurston broker offers healthplan advice

Oct 24, 2017 - 04:14 PM

With promotion efforts for government-supported health insurance plans sketchy at best under the current presidential administration, Washington Health Benefit Exchange is linking to the private sector to serve customers during the upcoming open enrollment period.

GHB Insurance, an Olympia insurance brokerage for 90 years, is offering in-person assistance to Washington Healthplanfinder customers. Its full-service enrollment center (location) will be staffed with trained health benefits navigators and brokers, who will be able to personally guide residents of Thurston County and adjoining areas through enrollment in health and dental coverages.

“Increased rates will impact customers very differently depending on where they live and their eligibility for subsidies,” says Pam MacEwan, CEO of the state health exchange. “It is especially important that all customers who have questions related to their insurance coverage, and would like 1:1 assistance, connect with a skilled broker or navigator who can help them understand their coverage options and enroll in coverage that best meets their needs.”

“This Open Enrollment period (Nov. 1 through January 15, 2018) may be particularly challenging,” says Ron Bruchet, president of GHB Insurance, “and we see it as another chance to provide excellent customer service and knowledge about the process, so that people get the care and coverage they need.”

There is an extensive network of health benefits Navigators in most areas of Washington, which can be located by clicking Customer Support link on www.wahealthplanfinder.org. Residents can also use the new WAPlanFinder mobile app to find nearby in-person assistance.
