Attorney pleads guilty in boating case

A Tacoma attorney pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and negligent boating and failure to report an accident in connection with a boating accident in 2006 on Commencement Bay. The accident injured a young woman.

Robert Denomy, 55, admitted to charges the day his case was set to face a trial in Pierce County Superior Court. His boat reportedly a 21-foot Bayliner hit another motorboat near the Silver Cloud Inn. His boat was apparently traveling so fast that it flew over the other craft after the impact. The Bayliner's propellers reportedly severely cut the woman's hands.

Denomy will be sentenced Thursday morning. He faces up to a year in jail.
