Sep. 14, 2009 at 2:51pm Awareness effort on Sound pollutionThe Puget Sound Starts Here public education campaign by a coalition of more than 300 Puget Sound organizations will be launched Wednesday at a Seattle event. The program comes from cities, counties, environmental and stewardship groups, businesses and universities. The effort is the largest in history to save Puget Sound from continuing water quality problems. To stop the daily flow of 140,000 pounds of toxic chemicals from entering local waters, this campaign focuses on telling residents how to change four key behaviors to help save the Sound. Puget Sound Starts Here also will kick off a comprehensive Web site showing its messages. Plenty more in the Archives The comments function of the Business Examiner community is meant to encourage conversations and spark ideas about business issues in the South Sound. The feature is free and open to members of the public who register basic log in information. Comments should be concise, on topic and avoid attacks, profanity or abusive language or content. Comments that are deemed to violate this policy will be removed. |
