Bates offers new biotech certification

In response to industry needs, Bates' Biotechnology Lab Technician program is offering three new certificates of training in biomanufacturing, tissue culture and flow cytometry to professionals who work in the field of biotechnology.

Biotechnology students pursuing an associate degree or a certificate of competency already learn the skills taught within the curriculum of these short-term certificates.

Bates' biotechnology program, one of just two offered by a technical or community college in Washington, prepares students to enter into a wide variety of jobs within the industry as lab technicians in areas such as diagnostics and testing, production and manufacturing, genetic research, quality assurance, scientific product sales, tissue culture and microprogation.
