Jul. 1, 2009 at 11:29am BLOG WATCH: No free parkingFeed Tacoma is reporting that parking expert Donald Shoup will speak in Tacoma later this month at the annual Pacific Intermountain Parking & Transportation Association Conference & Trade Show. Shoup's main points are that parking minimums are destructive to urban areas and that off-street parking requirements should be removed allowing the market to determine how much parking is built, and curb parking rates should be set at the minimum cost possible in order to create a 15 percent curb vacancy. According to Exit133.com, the Bank of California building on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma is on the market again. In other news, the Esplanade condominium project on the Foss is facing foreclosure at the end of August unless it can find additional financing.
