Aug. 22, 2008 at 11:27am Colleges partner for Business AcademyYoung people who have dropped out of high school can have another chance to complete their degree and increase their career prospects through a new joint by Bates Technical College, Tacoma Public Schools, and Communities in Schools of Tacoma. The three organizations have created the Tacoma Business Academy for young adults ages 16 to 21 who are no longer in school. The academy will begin this September. Participating students will complete their high school requirement and take business, marketing or information technology classes with the opportunity to explore other technical training programs. Students will be enrolled with Tacoma Public Schools, and will also have access to other resources such as online resources and Bates' program offerings.
