Oct. 14, 2009 at 3:00pm Dow Jones closes above 10,000For the first time in a little more than a year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index closed above the 10,000 level this afternoon. Market analysts give credit to better than expected earnings reports from Intel, which has a research operation in the South Sound at DuPont, and JP Morgan Chase, an international financial institution that entered the Washington state market with its take-over of Washington Mutual. The Dow average closed at 10015.86, a gain of 1.5 percent or about 145 points on the day.
