Fire deals blow to Eagles, flood relief

The Chehalis Eagles Lodge building caught fire this morning and suffered significant damage, said Debbie Campbell, executive director of Lewis County's United Way.

The building located at the corner of Southwest 20th and South Market in Chehalis was first reported on fire at around 10 a.m.

For the past three months, Eagles Lodge #1550 has been used as United Way of Lewis County's warehouse and distribution center of furniture for the victims of the December flooding in the South Sound.

Firefighters are still on the scene and damage estimates are not yet available, though the pictures make it appear to be substantial.
