Jul. 16, 2009 at 2:18pm First 'green' home certifiedLacey's MC Construction has completed the first custom-built home in Washington to be certified under the new National Green Building Standard developed by the National Association of Home Builders. The landmark certified 2,400-square-foot, post-and-beam style home in southeast Seattle was designed by Lindal Cedar Homes. Owner Wendy Jans chose MC Construction for its expertise in green building. The home will be open to the public this weekend, along with the point-by-point checklist showing how the project met the standards. MC Construction may be better known in the region as the developer of the 97-acre Point Ruston community rising along Commencement Bay where Tacoma meets Ruston. Every residence in Point Ruston will have Built Green certification.
