Sep. 4, 2008 at 11:06am Jobs was mixed picture in AugustToday's National Employment Report from Automatic Data Processing shows employment decreased by 33,000 in August. The report is based on actual payroll data and measures the change in total nonfarm private employment each month. While small businesses added 20,000 jobs around the nation, large companies lost 28,000 and producers lost 78,000. Big employment boosts came in service jobs, with 45,000 new hires.
