Tacoma Rail Superintendent Paula Henry has announced that she will leave the City of Tacoma to serve as a senior executive at large for a private railroad company. Henry's last day at Tacoma Rail will be March 31. Henry has been Tacoma Rail's superintendent since 2005, but has served a 23-year career with the City of Tacoma, with 10 of those years at Rail.

Rich Campbell, a veteran Information Technology manager with the Department of Social and Health Services, has been named director of the division of systems and monitoring in the Health and Recovery Services Administration. Campbell, who has been assistant director of the division for the past six years, will lead a division involved in auditing state medical providers as well as providing information system support for the state's Medicaid program, mental health services and chemical dependency treatment.

Cliff Rubert has been appointed executive vice president of Lakewood-based Northwest Commercial Bank. He will continue serving the bank as chief lending officer in addition to his new responsibilities. The bank will open a full-service branch in Auburn early in April and is planning to open another branch on Puyallup's South Hill in 2009. The two facilities will continue the growth pattern of the last year, which resulted in being named by the Business Examiner as the South Sound's fastest growing business for 2007.

First Horizon Home Loans has announced that Heather Hendrix has joined its team of mortgage planning specialists. Hendrix joins First Horizon after working at Eagle Home Mortgage for more than seven years.

SparrowHawk Consulting Co. has added Jody Suhrbier as development associate and Tiara Zimmerman as development support. Prior to joining SparrowHawk, Suhrbier was the founder and principal of Ardor Consulting, a firm specializing in grant development. Zimmerman's experience includes administration, data management, presentation graphics and client service.

Associated General Contractors of Washington recently elected new officers: Steve Barger, president; Lee Kilcup, first vice president; Tom Zamzow, second vice president; Van Hardy, secretary/treasurer; and David D'Hondt, immediate past president.

Puget Sound Business Journal has named its 2008 CFO of the Year Awards finalists. South Sound honorees include Mike Fitzgerald, Franciscan Health System; and Peter Grignon, United Way of Pierce County.

Capital Medical Center recently announced its 2008 Medical Executive Committee: Dr. Rajesh Sharangpani, chief of staff; Dr. Carl Ott, vice-chief of staff; Dr. Robert Hipp; immediate past chief of staff; Dr. David Tollefson; chair, department of surgery; Dr. Austin Lampert, chair, department of medicine; Dr. Robert Hipp, chair, Quality of Improvement Council; and Dr. David Deitz, chair, Credentials Committee.

Ken Parsons, Sr., chair of Saint Martin's University Board of Trustees, was recently honored as a "Champion of Catholic Education" by the Fulcrum Foundation. Parsons was one of six community leaders to receive the distinction at the foundation's Celebration of Light, an annual event celebrating Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle. Parsons is CEO and chairman Venture Financial Group.
