Jun. 23, 2009 at 12:15pm People on the movePromotions, awards and recognitions in the South SoundWilcox Farms Inc., the century-old Northwest egg producer, has received the esteemed Food Alliance certification for its cage-free and organic egg production. Food Alliance, a national non-profit organization, offers the most comprehensive certification program for sustainably produced food in North America. Farms and processing facilities receiving the certification are audited regularly by an independent, third party inspector and judged on safe and fair working conditions, humane treatment of animals and protection of the environment. Wilcox Farms, celebrating their centennial year, said they understand their role in being good stewards of the land, environment and as an employer. This certification reinforces the company's vision. Kitsap Credit Union has promoted Ana Barnett as the newest branch manager to serve the Gig Harbor community at its Olympic Plaza branch on Point Fosdick Drive NW. Barnett has more than 10 years experience working for the credit union, most recently serving as the Belfair assistant manager. Washington Women's Employment & Education, WWEE, recently announced the election of its newest board members: Alice Aumoeualogo, Susan Gordon, Bonnie Sellen and Wanda Wilder. These new members will help to provide guidance, resource development and strategic direction to the organization as it continues its mission, assisting low-income individuals to gain the skills, the knowledge and the courage to become self-supporting. Aumoeualogo is a 22 year employee of The Boeing Co. and has held a number of positions during her tenure with the company. She has spent many hours volunteering for a number of local causes and agencies. Gordon is a former journalist who most recently wrote about environmental issues for The News Tribune, where she worked for nearly 25 years. Gordon currently works as a paraeducator for the Clover Park School District in Lakewood. Sellen is the Vice President of Corporate Resources at the Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc. corporate office in Federal Way. She serves on the boards of, and volunteers for, numerous professional and civic organizations. Wilder is the Executive Director of Tacoma City Association of Colored Women's Club. Her Board experience includes: Greater Pierce County Community Networks, Alliance Against Domestic Violence and Communities for Family.
