ManorCare of Tacoma has announced the three new employees at its facility: Tina Irwin, administrator; Eric Dobry, director of nursing; and Janice Suarez-Pena, human resources director. Each of these individuals comes with a wealth of knowledge, experience and solid leadership abilities.
The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts has been awarded a national grant to support its teacher training programs. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the nation's performing arts center in Washington D.C., awarded $9,500 to recognize the Broadway Center's leadership in providing local teachers with the opportunity to learn how to integrate the arts into their classrooms through the Broadway Center Graduate Series programs. The Broadway Center's award is the only one of its kind in the Northwest this year. The Broadway Center Graduate Series responds directly to the need expressed by teachers in the South Puget Sound region for advanced training in integrating the arts into curriculum. The Graduate Series connects teachers to outstanding teaching artists, professional performances, and each other through a series of intensives in subject areas including dance, theatre and spoken word.
SiteCrafting Inc., a Web design and application development company, has announced that Dave Poole and Joe Izenman have been promoted from Web developers to senior Web developers after completing a set of core competencies developed by SiteCrafting leadership. Their new responsibilities include increased individual management of web project teams, developing new Web-based solutions for internal and client projects. Poole and Izenman have proved that they not only have a comprehensive understanding of SiteCrafting's core web solutions, but that they are adept problem solvers and pioneers of new web technologies. Accepting more responsibility by stepping into leadership roles, they also serve as mentors to co-workers.
Dr. James Ruf, a board certified orthopedic surgeon, has recently joined MultiCare Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center at the Covington MultiCare Clinic. Ruf received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in Indiana, and his medical degree from Creighton University in Nebraska. He completed both his general surgery internship and his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Michigan. He has special expertise in total and partial joint replacement, joint arthroscopy and the surgical treatment of fractures.
