Marylin Ball-Brown, president and CEO of Generations Credit Union in Olympia, has received the Washington Credit Union Foundation's Distinguished Professional of the Year award for 2008.

Heritage Bank has announced as service that makes managing finances easier for online banking users. FinanceWorks, an online financial management solution, powered by Quicken, gives customers an illustration of where their money is going, helps with budgeting and tracks future transactions. It also gives the availability of viewing other deposits, loan and credit card accounts from more than 5,000 financial institutions.

TrueBlue Inc. has appointed Bill Steele to serve as lead independent director following the unexpected death of recently-appointed lead independent director and Audit Committee Chairman Keith Grinstein. Steele has served as a member of the board since 2001. He is also chairman of the company's Governance Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. He is currently a director and chairman of the Executive Committee of ABM Industries. The board also appointed current board member Craig Tall as chairman of the Audit Committee. Tall has served as a member of the board since 2006. He is also a member of the Governance and Compensation Committees. Tall was a member of Washington Mutual's executive committee from 1985 until 2004 and retired in 2008.

Jeff Wendt has joined The Rants Group as a commercial sales, leasing and development agent. Wendt was formerly in Seattle with Marcus and Millichap, the largest commercial real estate investment firm in the country. There he specialized in hospitality investments and multi-tenant retail. The Rants Group, celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, is a full-service commercial brokerage firm.

MultiCare Health System recently received national recognition from the American Heart Association as a Gold Level Start! Fit-Friendly Company. MultiCare is also one of only 12 companies recognized nationally with the Community Fitness Innovation Award, in addition to achieving the Gold Level recognition. Start! Fit-Friendly Company recognition program is a national movement from the American Heart Association that calls on all Americans and their employers to create a culture of  physical activity and health to live longer, heart-healthier lives through walking. Companies earn recognition by implementing physical activity practices.
