Preparing for 'Black Friday'

The City of Olympia will open a 2-hour free parking lot for downtown shoppers during the holiday season. This option will be available beginning Friday, Nov. 27, through the shopping season.

The lot is located on State Avenue, between Adams and Franklin Streets (former DOT site), and signs will be posted.  Patrons are reminded that the 2-hour limit will be enforced by Parking Services Monday – Friday.

For more information, check the city's Web site.
Downtown Olympia will have some alternatives to the usual holiday gifts, including an Alternative Gift Fair on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can purchase a gift in someone's name from non-profit organizations which help train the homeless, build homes for families, help protect our environment, and feed the hungry.
